Need help putting the pieces together ?

SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVOCACY

What is a Special Education

Advocate?

Individuals who work on behalf of people with disabilities to get the services that they need and are entitled to.

Who do they help?

Students with learning disabilities, autism, speech and language delays, and other needs.

When are Advocates Necessary?

They can help parents get important services for their children with disabilities. Often, people will use advocates when schools deny services, treatments, or equipment a child needs.

Reasons to hire a Special Education Advocate:

  • Someone who provides your family with insights into the IEP process.
  • Someone who can provide guidance, while maintaining composure through situations that are emotional.
  • Someone who has knowledge of parental rights, as well as the rights of the student.
  • Someone who can ask the hard questions that may be uncomfortable for parents to ask.
  • Someone who is on your team, and is looking for the best experience possible in the school system for your child.
  • Someone who can help you put the pieces together.
